Fan embassies are just one of several community service projects being supported by UEFA ahead of next summer's finals. All eight host cities in Switzerland and Austria will be home to a fan embassy with €375,000 being made available to help set them up and run them throughout the tournament.
The Fan Embassies project will help the specific needs of fans travelling to the finals and embassies will appear in the eight host cities. Supporters of individual countries will also have their own mobile embassies which will move from stadium to stadium. Participating countries' fans experts will work together on this project with local equivalents. The fan embassies are being organised by UEFA's partner, Football Against Racism in Europe (FARE), in co-operation with Football Supporters International (FSI).
Like the fan embassies, the official fan website of the finals, fanguide2008.net, is designed 'by fans, for fans'. UEFA has given its backing to the website launched to assist supporters as they start booking trips to follow their teams in Austria and Switzerland.
